It’s hard for me to imagine myself doing what I now do without ever being exposed to the Beastie Boys. This band has had such a huge impact on me. The following pack of edits are some of the songs I played throughout what were very bittersweet tribute sets this past weekend. Some are essentials and some are personal favorites, but all should be in every DJ’s crate. 22 songs, Serato ready, all contained in one neat zip. Download it here. Rest in peace, Adam Yauch.

That’s tonight. RIP MCA. I’ll share the massive collection of Beastie Boys edits with y’all some time next week.

I’m thinking next year around this time instead of everything on the radio being MMG related, it’ll be G.O.O.D. Music. Here’s Kanye’s latest posse cut, hopping on 16 year-old Chicago native Chief Keef’s big single. This was supposed to be out on Friday but the turned into today. The radio, then clean, then dirty mp3 eventually dropped and the latter is yours for the taking.

Chief Keef - I Don’t Like Remix ft. Kanye West, Big Sean, Pusha T & Jadakiss

Update:

I’ve been getting bombarded by emails and tweets telling me about how folks can’t download these edits. The change over to sharebeast should solve the problem for now, but let me know if any issues persist. As always, thanks for the support, play these in your club sets, and keep checking back for more in the future.

Original Post:

Here’s 5 new edits for all you DJs out there and it is quite the mixed bag. All 5 are in pretty heavy rotation right now so hopefully there’s something useful in there for you.

Future – Same Damn Time Remix ft. Rick Ross, Wale, Gunplay & Meek Mill (Chazz Rockwell Intro)

Azealla Banks – 212 ft. Lazy Jay (Chazz Rockwell Edit)

DJ Drama – We In This Bitch ft. T.I., Young Jeezy, Ludacirs & Future (Chazz Rockwell Intro)

Rick Ross – Bag Of Money ft. Wale, Meek Mill, & T-Pain (Chazz Rockwell Intro)

Carly Rae Jespsen – Call Me Maybe (Chazz Rockwell Kick Intro)

Well it’s that time of the year again. Time to talk about how the new Cudder track is so damn bad it warrants sharing. This is nothing new around these parts (that last link actually recaps when he was worth listening to). This song is just a clusterfuck of muddled production, atrocious rapping, and corny tattoos. As Cudi eloquently puts it at the end of the song “I’ve been waiting to shit on you”. Congratulations, Mr. Cudi. Mission accomplished.

Kid Cudi – Dennis Hook Me Up With Some More Of That Whiskey

P.S. If there is anything positive going on in this song it’s the sampling of the movie Attack The Block. That is it.

First leak from the upcoming Gucci Mane mixtape dropping Memorial Day weekend. I enjoyed Trap Back so I’m cautiously optimistic about this next one. Anyway, this first track is a good start.

Gucci Mane ft. Chris Brown & Lil Wayne – Cyeah Cyeah Cyeah Cyeah

Swing meets house? I’m not sure what to call this, but it’s one of the many goodies that got added to my crates during the month of March.

First the original, then the A-Trak remix, then the Madeon Remix, then the A-Trak vs. Martin Rework. This song and nearly all of its subsequent remixes are so playable. Martin’s whole last album is so playable. And when it comes to music videos, Martin Solveig is in a league of his own.
