Whitney

So I’m on the way to DJ at Lilium this past Saturday when twitter melted with the news of Whitney’s passing. Sad stuff. Needless to say, lots of Whitney got played that night and will continue to be for the next week or so. That’s where my Barcelona/Philly/NYC brother Isaac Jordan and Philly DJ/producer Elvis Suarez come in. They’re responsible for this fantastic mashup, pinning Whitney’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” vocals over Rihanna and Calvin Harris’ “We Found Love”. It’s a recipe for club ovulation.

Download it and give it spins in your local club, bar, barbershop, Applebee’s, or wherever.

Golly, there’s a lot of big things on the come up including new residencies and updates on holiday as well as new year’s parties. On the more immediate tip, I’m fortunate enough to get to play at the always fun 1Oak night club tomorrow night for their Thanksgiving Eve party. Now, 6 tracks you need in your life.

Young Jeezy – I Do ft. Jay-Z & Andre 3000

Remember when this originally leaked over a year ago? Well, it still sounds like International Players Anthem Part 2 and thus, is still awesome.

ASAP Rocky – Out Of This World

Go get the mixtape.

Big K.R.I.T. - Money On The Floor ft. 2 Chainz & 8Ball & MJG

I haven’t stopped listening to this one since it came out months ago. So good.

Surkin – Ultra Light (Original Mix)

Everyone’s fav cut off the new album.

John Dahlback – Overdose

I’ve been playing this out nonstop in tons of my sets this past month.

Austin Leeds ft. Corey Andrew – Harmony (Original Mix)

Just got this and I imagine I will be playing it out nonstop over the next month.

That’s a wrap for now, bee. Enjoy your Turkey Day, boys and girls.

Maybe I should change the name to Wax Dat Ass Thursdays? In my defense, deadlines are tough to follow when you’re as busy as I’ve been this past month. Besides, it’s all good because you’ve got the mix in time for the weekend. Anywho, this is a half hour slice from the peak of the night when I played at Lexicon in the citay about a month ago. Listen and see what you missed out on.

We’re totally Twitter BFFs. Here’s the tracklist:

Sunfreakz & Jeremy Carr - The Way We Are (Mysto & Pizzi Remix)

Chris Brown – Yeah 3X (DJ Berrie Club Mix)

I’ve been playing this song out a lot over the past few weeks. You don’t need vocals when you’ve got cowbell.

Robbie Rivera feat. Ana Criado - The Sound Of The Times (Koen Groeneveld Remix)

I stay fashionably late, as usual. I’m proud to present the second entry in the Wax Dat Ass Wednesdays mix series. Recorded this past Friday at Voyeur night club in Philly, it’s from early in the night and is loaded with some very funky house tracks. Makes for a useful opener tool for DJs and and fun listen for all. The track list is as follows:

Alp vs. Outwork feat. Mr.Gee - Fiesta Elektronika (Paolo Aliberti Reprise Mix)

I absolutely love this track. Groovy drum loop partnered with a real fat synth. It also comes along with the best music video I’ve seen all year. For real. It goes from funny, to sexy, to strange, to straight fucking weird. And all in four and a half minutes. Watch it. Oh, NSFW. Grab the mp3 and a remix after the vid.

Mustard Pimp – ZHM (Original Mix)

The Dada Life boys takes that fat synth and, you guessed it, made it fatter.

Mustard Pimp – ZHM (Dada Life Remix)

Okay, the headline is a little misleading, but the reality of the situation is still pretty cool. Check out this trailer for Project Nim, the documentary that has garnered absolutely rave reviews. It’s your standard little trailer and then BOOM, in drops Penguin Cafe Orchestra’s composition, “Perpetuum Mobile”, which is none other than the sample Avicii uses in “Fade Into Darkness”. I embedded the video to start at the 1 minute mark, just before it drops in. Avicii is everywhere. You can not hide.

I’ve been teasing at this for weeks and today is the day it begins. The Chazz Rockwell Blob is proud to present: Wax Dat Ass Wednesdays. Every Wednesday, for next only Lord knows how many, I’m going to be sharing 30 minute live recordings from my best club sets. Take them to the gym, out on a run, on a picnic, to a party, or make sweet love to it. Either way, I promise you’ll be able to Wax Dat Ass across a variety of situations by the time this is over. First up, 30 minutes from the peak hour at my going away party at Bikini night club in Barcelona. It was a crazy night. Sorry if you feel like the Martin Solveig and Rihanna drag on a little too long in the middle. They weren’t so played out at the time. Anywho, this starts off with uptempo and dancey shit for the first 22 minutes then finishes strong with a whole bunch of hip hop for the final 13 minutos. Lots of tracks jammed into this one.

Madeon

Here’s an absolutely astonishing video of up and coming producer Madeon triggering a huuuge mashup (live?!!) of 39 of his/everyone’s favorite songs. Some stellar tracks are sampled such as Daft Punk’s “Aerodynamic”, Bag Raider’s “Shooting Star”, Justice’s “Phantom Part 2″, and many, many more. Oh yeah, and this young Frenchie is only 17 years old. Wow.

Check back tomorrow for more Madeon.
