Remember that awesome Lil Wayne documentary from 2009? I actually posted plenty about it two years ago. Personally, I found that all the weed smoking, Promethazine and Codeine sipping, money flaunting, Weezy-in-his-prime rapping, and nonsensical interviewing added to Weezy’s legacy. Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr., on the other hand, seemed to disagree. So much so that he’s brought a second lawsuit against the producers of the 75 minute long film. This summer he answered questions at a deposition for the case, which thankfully was filmed. The video has now hit the internets and beautifully showcases the lack of any fucks that Lil Wayne gives. Enjoy.

I love this series. This episode interviews the legendary DJ Z-Trip and takes a look at his collection of vinyls. He organizes his records by BPM, exactly as I do. 70 up to 138ish. Furthermore, he goes on to say that the best feeling after playing a killer set in a club is when the entire venue clears out, you’re packing up, and some random and jaded doorman or bartender comes up to deliver a compliment. Plus 1,000 to that. Yet another awesome interview in the series.

Excuse the time off, folks. I had some shoulder surgery. It ain’t no thang. Robo-Chazz is here. And when it comes to interviews it gets no better than Nardwuar.

Food is food. Noodles is noodles. We got updates coming.

Loca People

This video is super corny, but that doesn’t mean it can’t bring a smile to my face. Lots of Barcelona cameos throughout this whole thing. Viva la noche. Grab the download below.

Sak Noel – Loca People

Can’t believe this is my first Nardwuar The Human Serviette post. I fucking love this guy’s interviews.

I’m sorting through tons of videos and tracks that I meant to post over the last few months. While most are getting the axe, this one still gets my nod of approval. Yeah, these aren’t freestyles, but this isn’t about Pusha or Kanye. This is my ode to Funk Flex. I liked him before, but since I’ve returned to America and actually listened to him for the first time in nearly 3 years, I’d say he’s entered man-crush status. Thank you Funk Flex, keep yelling at us and every rapper you have on.

Oh, and ever wonder what Funk Flex’s thoughts are on R. Kelly? Luckily, someone with a camera asked him that back in 2008.

Early weekend

It’s weekend time for me and yours isn’t far away either. I’m feeling reaaal good right now so it’s only right that the rotation matches. Enjoy these laid back joints.

First up, my jam at the moment:

Terrace Martin ft. Wiz Khalifa & Ty $ – Go Get It

Next up:

J-Lie – Double XL ft. Curren$y, Mickey Factz, & Kendrick Lamar

More west coast:

Terrace Martin ft. Snoop Dogg & J. Black – We Ain’t Gotta Go

And lastly, one of my favorite joints of the new/old Saigon album:

Saigon – What The Lovers Do ft. Devin the Dude

I’m glad Turtle finally got his shit together and put the album out because it’s dope. P.S. Turtle looks hungry.

Hova has been running around doing interviews left and right promoting his new book over the past two weeks. There was Stern, Stewart, Dyson, Letterman, and plenty more, but none hold a candle to the interview done by Peter Rosenberg and Cipha Sounds. Jay sat down with them for 73 minutes and spoke on a TON of things such as, but not limited to:

His close friendship with Biggie, thoughts on J Dilla, where he thinks Big L would be now if he was still alive, how “Takeover” is a much better record than “Ether”, getting outshined by Eminem on “Renegade”, what Rakim said to him about “D.O.A.”, going out in public, doing laundry, making sandwiches….oh, and his book too.

Jay-Z on the Juan Epstein Podcast

I listened to this entire thing the other day while cooking and eating dinner. I can not recommend it enough. It’s an incredible interview.

Continuing on with our previews of the epic week that lies ahead, we also can look forward to Yelawolf’s first LP, Tunk Muzik 0-60. It’s essentially the best tracks from his mixtape that dropped earlier this year with an EP worth of new songs on top of it. I’m really looking forward to his and Curren$y’s releases way more than anything else coming out next week, Kanye excluded. Here’s a recent interview Yelawolf did with Nardwuar and it is absolutely awesome. Yes it’s ten minutes long, but it’s fantastic like every other Nardwuar interview. Seriously, if you’ve got 45 free minutes to roam around the land of youtube I highly suggest you check out his interviews with Pharrell, Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, and any others you have time for. Two new Yelawolf tunes below the interview.

Yelawolf – Daddy’s Lambo

This track is so many levels of great.

Yelawolf – Wanna Party ft. Gucci Mane

Not the best quality on the Gucci track, sorry. Go get the real thing.
