Serato just released a video of 2010 World DMC champion, DJ LigOne, demoing the upcoming version of Scratch Live. This pretty much highlights what can be done on the TTM-57 so I’m assuming there will finally be a firmware update to go along with the new version. It’s all pretty quick, but 2.3 appears to sport several new effects, including a proper filters controlled by the P1 and P2 knobs. Way to go Rane, we were only asking for that for 5 years. I guess I’ll hold off on selling my 57 until I give this a whirl.

Awesome teaser for a new Junior Sanchez song due out June 29th. Can’t wait for this joint.
Continuing on with our previews of the epic week that lies ahead, we also can look forward to Yelawolf’s first LP, Tunk Muzik 0-60. It’s essentially the best tracks from his mixtape that dropped earlier this year with an EP worth of new songs on top of it. I’m really looking forward to his and Curren$y’s releases way more than anything else coming out next week, Kanye excluded. Here’s a recent interview Yelawolf did with Nardwuar and it is absolutely awesome. Yes it’s ten minutes long, but it’s fantastic like every other Nardwuar interview. Seriously, if you’ve got 45 free minutes to roam around the land of youtube I highly suggest you check out his interviews with Pharrell, Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, and any others you have time for. Two new Yelawolf tunes below the interview.
Yelawolf – Daddy’s Lambo
This track is so many levels of great.
Yelawolf – Wanna Party ft. Gucci Mane
Not the best quality on the Gucci track, sorry. Go get the real thing.
You already know about how there’s three huge releases coming out Monday. There’s also two more lesser known, but equally exciting drops to look forward to as well. First up, Curren$y’s followup to his critically acclaimed LP, Pilot Talk, which dropped earlier this year. The first one was fantastic and this dude is sounding sharper than ever. “Michael Knight” got put out a week ago and has been getting steady plays in my iTunes since. The remix with Raekwon came out today (or yesterday if you’re into downloading illegal thangs on the internet). Here’s a “making of” video of said remix from the good folks at Creative Control followed by some music below it.
Curren$y – Michael Knight Remix ft. Raekwon
Wiz Khalifa & Curren$y – Huey Newton
Yup, that samples “Africa” by Toto
Bonus:
Curren$y & Fiend – Flying Iron (Chazz Rockwell Intro)
Hey DJs, I’ve got looooads of new intro edits so stay tuned as I’ll be sharing them with the masses in the coming days.
I had such a tough time choosing between several great photos that came up when I google imaged “wale ovechkin”
“Back like I never ever left in the first. Wale Ovechkin, the best in the Earth.” – Wale Folarin
Wale – Black N Gold ft. Sam Sparro
Major life moves being made require major time away from blogging. That track above applies both with Wale’s opening line and as a post that I meant to write like 3 months ago. It’s pretty much the only song worth listening to from Wale’s half-assed followup to his Mixtape About Nothing. Oh well, that’s old news. In new news, the world eagerly awaits Monday, the 22nd. We’ll be treated to three super anticipated albums from Kanye West (yeah, the v2 rip leaked like a week ago), Nicki Minaj (yeah, the v2 leaked like two hours ago), and Lloyd Banks (yeah, he really is responsible for two of the biggest hip hop tracks of the year). Here’s some selections off what’s to come:
Kanye West – All Of The Lights ft. John Legend, The-Dream, Ryan Leslie, Tony Williams, Charlie Wilson, Elly Jackson, Alicia Keys, Fergie, Kid Cudi, Rihanna & Elton John
Perhaps the most absurd posse cut since “Feed the World”. The mp3 has one DJ tag in the middle of it, but it is still perfectly listenable until you get the real thing.
Nicki Minaj – Blazin’ ft. Kanye West
I have very mediocre expectations for this lady’s album.
Lloyd Banks – Start It Up ft. Swizz Beats, Kanye West, Fabolous & Ryan Leslie
“Told her beauty is why God invented eyeballs, and her booty is why God invented my balls.” – Yeezy
Edit:
Banks’ HFM2 just hit the internets too. All leaked before the weekend. Wowsers.
Here’s a preview of the video for the title track of Lil Wayne’s 10 song EP coming out on his born day (September 27th). Weezy meets A Clockwork Orange?
Bonus:
Here’s the full mp3. This is from February 2009.
Lil Wayne – I’m Not Human
I made it clear a while ago that even though Attention Deficit Disorder was pretty mediocre as a whole, Wale is still dope. Mixtapes like 100 Miles and Running and his follow up, Mixtape About Nothing, were super successful and earned him his Interscope signing. However, one thing that the world of rap music taught me this past year is that these dudes who kill their mixtapes (Wale, Cudi, B.o.B.) can really put out some shitty full length albums on their labels. I’m not too worried though, at least for Wale. He’s capable of bouncing back, as evidenced by these two new joints. Wale also just released this youtube video as a teaser for his upcoming More About Nothing mixtape, the sequel to 2008′s Seinfeld themed Mixtape About Nothing.
Wale – Workin
Kingpen Slim feat. Wale, STS & Phil Ade – The Way You Move
P.S. That photo at the top is a fucking classic.
Golly, I can’t wait for this track to come out. It’s Hardwell and Chuckie’s upcoming release that’s supposed to be out some time soon. It’s what you’d expect with these two producers, techy house meets squelchy dutch sounds. Can’t come out soon enough.
I normally pay no attention to talk about Dr. Dre’s mythical Detox album. It’s been promised for like four summers in a row now. Well maybe it isn’t that far off after all as this song right here appears to be the real deal. Who am I kidding, it’s never coming out. Anyway, the song is tagged up with plenty “World Star Hip-Hop” tags making it a tough listen, but go for it.
